Lobster Love, Gyotaku Impression of an Anglesey LobsterLobster are a local seasonal seafood here on the island of Anglesey. Many local people have pots in the waters around the coast. They are such a feature of our local marine life that I always wanted to record them. However working with a hard shelled creature that is so three dimensional was always going to be a challenge. It took me a long time to find a way of making successful prints. The lobster I worked with to make this print was caught in a pot

Printed on delicate yet durable Chinese Xuan paper

and comes as shown framed

It will certainly add a pop of colour too

The print is supplied unframed or mounted and is simply wrapped in an acid free tissue paper and posted in a tube

this piece draws attention to the textures and shape that define its form

The print is supplied framed as seen and measures 84cm x 49cm approx

brought to life through the same traditional techniques I use to print real lobsters

and apply ink to the surface of the fish
