A4 Feather Gyotaku Blue and Gold FramedA simple feather collected from my garden which is full of wildlife including red squirrels, rabbits, pheasants and hedge hogs. I've always loved printing feathers they make a very effective print and are popular amongst my clients. This one is printed on Chinese Xuan paper and the backing paper is Japanese Masa paper. I picked up one of each leaf or grass I could see as I headed down the path on this particular day and this print is a result of this gathering

This tuna tail print is on Thai Mulberry Paper measuring 69cm x 49cm approx and is printed in Speedball Acrylic Ink

So the second stage is to make the print nice and flat so it will sit well in a frame

in this case I used a Chinese rice paper

making every piece unique

The hand-torn edges are intentionally preserved and best displayed float mounted to showcase the natural deckle edge for a clean

I make a simple paste from flour and water which I paste using Yaumoto Goat Hair brush

I've used my regular blue and gold acrylic ink

made possible through the careful application of ink and pressure in the printing process

with some trepidation I accepted the commission and thankfully they loved it
