Mini Scallop Shell GyotakuMaking this print was so much fun! Here I've used a scallop shell that was donated to me by a marine biologist who lives locally. The print measures just over 10cmx10cm so it really is mini. The print is made using the finest quality Acrylic ink. I've used a blue and gold ink and blended them on the surface of the shell. Using Chinese paper and acrylic ink

So I take a second sheet of paper and using a very ancient technique called wet mounting or Urauchi

These lobsters are both printed from the same lobster on Thai mulberry paper measuring 76x51cm

As you will see the Megrim Sole is a flat fish

measuring 50x34cm approximately

made possible through the careful application of ink and pressure in the printing process

I just about managed to get it in my freezer

Did you know all flat fish start off with an eye on either side of their head and as they grow one eye migrates around as they start to settle on the floor of the ocean

A certificate is provide with each unique artwork

It was made on Chinese Xuan paper and has been flattened using the wet mounting process
