Anglesey Sea Bass Diptych Gyotaku PrintThis bass was caught on a line by a local fisherman here in North Wales. It was caught on the Menai Strait. Bass are my favourite fish to print the definition you get on the scales is wonderful. This diptych is printed on Chinese mulberry paper and each panel measures approx 35x35cm. Framed they are 38. 5cmx38. 5cm The same fish has been printed here 4 times and one of the fish has been printed across two separate sheets of paper to make the diptych.

many people don't realise I'm working with an actual lobster and that this artwork is made by pressing the paper against the surface of the actual lobster itself

This is on Chinese paper measuring approx 30x30cm and has been mounted using the authentic Japanese wet mounting technique which uses a simple flour and water paste and requires a period of around 24 hours to dry and stretch
