This is an impregnated rod as many of Orvis' rods are. The tip section a straight as well as the butt. The ferrules fit together tightly as they should and "pop" when pulled apart. This is a 5 6 weight rod and is excellent for al around trout fishing. Rod Specs: Line 5 6 Length 8' Pieces 2 Tips 1 Weight 4. 60 oz.
