Pair of Brass Barley Twist CandlesticksA pair of brass candlesticks with barley twist columns. The brass has aged to a warm, unlacquered tone. Each stick sits on a circular domed base with a stepped foot ring, topped with a tulip shaped sconce and drip pan. Barley twist candlesticks in brass were produced throughout the Victorian and Edwardian periods, drawing on a decorative vocabulary that goes back to the 17th century. Condition: Good overall condition. Brass shows an even aged patina
and each plate was then finished by hand in watercolour
I believe they have been lacquered
