Hardy Perfect 3 5/8" Fly ReelFor sale here we have a vintage Hardy Perfect 3 5 8" fly reel. Circa 1950's. The reel is in excellent condition, and though it shows some wear it retains much of the original finish. MKII check, ebonite handle, rim tensioner, and unaltered ribbed brass foot. The reel, spool, and back plate are all stamped "59". The reel weighs in at 9. 55 oz. with line and backing. The spool comes loaded with a sinking line in good condition. A terrific reel for a 6

Maker" which lines up with the barrel mortise when screwed all the way to the bottom (reminiscent of Payne's famous attention to detail with their screw lock seats)

This is a nice chance to own what is a fairly rare model since the taper rod for it was destroyed in the 1964 fire at Leonard

Includes original bag and tube with the label 85% remaining

The oxidized nickel silver butt cap is mounted on about 1 1/2" of varnished walnut

Used but in very good condition

This is a gorgeous specimen: there is a tiny amount of brassing inside the guides and that is the only sign of use
