Hollow built. The rod has three sections with three tips. The first two tips were originally intended for bonefish flats fishing and the third tip a bit sturdier robust and slightly heavier for stripers blues. The rod would also fit the bill for redfish, salar, steelhead, silver salmon and any really big trout
