Kitchen Gardens, LaundeLaunde Abbey in Rutland runs as a Christian Retreat and Conference Centre. It was founded as an Augustinian priory in 1119 and in 2019, together with 2 other artists, I held an exhibition of work made over the previous 12 months to coincide with their 900 years celebrations. The working kitchen garden, with its 18th Century glasshouse is one of my favourite places to sit and draw. Due to the nature of the hand printing process there is an inevitable
It’s also a surprising church on the inside too
Every year the University Botanic Gardens has an Open Day and Plant Sale… the gardens have developed around four rather grand Arts & Crafts houses with sweeping lawns
