Duo print of Menai Strait PrawnI picked up this prawn from my friend Andy in December, he was clearing down his bait tanks on the Menai and had pulled out half a dozen prawns and a pollock. He gifted me this little guy and he went in the freezer until I had some time after Christmas to get in the studio and print. I've printed the same prawn here twice, once from each side, onto an A4 sheet of Chinese calligraphy paper using and dark blue and gold ink. It takes a long time to

many people don't realise I'm working with an actual lobster and that this artwork is made by pressing the paper against the surface of the actual lobster itself

My newer prints all come with a certificate to show they are authentic and they have the date the print was made and where the specimen came from

here I used Japanese Masa paper and press it firmly to the print

Using only the finest materials and techniques

5cm and is on a Chinese mulberry calligraphy paper

When this has been done a light paper is pressed over the surface

Octopus are incredible animals and I always feel it's a privilege to have one to work with

each fish is printed individually so this is actually 5 individual prints on the same sheet of paper

It's only the top sheet that is torn and the bottom sheet is in tact so the print is still very effective

The frame will be supplied in a white mount
