Shes looking over her right shoulder with her mouth slightly open, which gives the portrait a sense of life and vitality. It feels like shes about to talk and perhaps she did during her sitting. He’s wearing a heavy brown jacket with a waistcoat and tie

a burnt sienna sky illuminates the foreground

He’s dressed in a black tunic with gold epaulettes

He is currently represented at the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam and his works are held in collections worldwide

It’s unsigned but clearly by a well-trained hand who was inspired by the Dutch golden age
